Lindsay Lohan
Once again the judicial system in California has let down yet another celebrity on their quest to become sober from drug and alcohol abuse. Lindsay Lohan was released early from her drug rehab program where the Dr’s there decided she didn’t have an addiction and her behaviors were a direct link to prescription medication that she was being prescribed.
Let’s stop and think here, do you really believe that Lindsay only took the prescription drugs as they were prescribed? Do you believe she did cocaine because of the prescription drugs? I find that hard to believe and I feel sorry for Lindsay. It takes much more than a couple of weeks to start working on your drug addiction treatment regiment. After you detox is when it all begins and she isn’t going to be able to do that.
At best, three weeks of care in a medical facility “detoxed” her, meaning that drugs and alcohol have been successfully cleansed from her system. After detox, that’s when the real work begins and addicts can start to think with a clear mind. But these therapists shortchanged her. Letting her out early allows Lohan to return to her old life, home and friends, which only enabled her destructive behavior in the first place. Ablow says her court sentence should have specified a return to prison if she left rehab prematurely.
Drug Addiction isn’t something that is easy to overcome. It takes months to really be able to say that you are clean and sober and for Lindsay it looks like that may never happen.
